This Spring, Eurailscout successfully replaced the growing number of Excel sheets used for workforce scheduling and resourcing by a Quintiq-software based integrated solution, developed and implemented by Ab Ovo. The solution supports the short-term and real-time execution of train resources, ground staff, trains staff and office planning. Furthermore, it includes long-term staff capacity planning as well.
Ab Ovo was chosen as the supplier of the tailor made solution, because of the combination of Ab Ovo’s in-depth knowledge of the rail industry and Quintiq planning software, to solve this complex planning puzzle. The combination realized a solution that allows open collaboration between the different planning departments and is a flexible platform for application enhancements to support
Eurailscout’s foreseen growth.
With the integrated solution Eurailscout’s planners are able to make the best decision for scheduling and re- scheduling resources and disruption management. Furthermore, it provides more transparency in the planning puzzle and legislation compliance. And it increases the efficiency of planning: more time for a good plan.
